Kubbyhole Offers Gift Ideas For Everyone

As a crafts person myself, It tickles me pink to see local artists making their mark. Some days I’m a graphic artists, some days a painter, and others, I spend my time making clips. I think what it really comes down to, for me at least, is the urge to get out an emotion, a space in time, or just to evoke feelings in other people. It’s the desire to express. Whether it’s drawing with a pencil, writing words in a book, or just creating with your hands objects or representation, you just need to get it out.

Art is intended to move you. To feel what the artist felt when they created it. Songs and music can do this very well. Some songs make me want to get up and dance, and others make me want to cry. Seeing 20 local artists coming together and creating something so unique is incredible! Even as an entrepreneur the word seasonal, to me, means at least 6 months of the year (i.e.: landscaping). Who would have thought to open a business for only two months of the year!!! Astounding!!

And the convenience for the consumer- wow! I mean what a better way to do some x-mas shopping for an original one-of-a-kind item, than to go to just one place where all the local craftsman and everything is right there, plus it’s tax free!. It just doesn’t get any better than that. I think it’s great that these local artists have found a way to get their work out there. Trades people or craftsman can, at times, struggle to make ends meet because what they sell are, to some, easily called, or excused as a hobby. So the local Saturday market and just local events are really the best and possibly only exposure these people have. This gives them a permanent location and allows the customer to come to them, instead of constantly traveling to find business.

Yeah for them =:)
